Custom Nature (2021)
Within the context of climate change, we humans deal with nature almost awkwardly. We desperately try to restrain nature, while simultaneously romanticizing it and appreciating its importance. Our glorified view of nature misguides us into conflicting action.
This series made of various physical objects is made to highlight this, each exposing their own perspective on the topic, encouraging viewers to discuss and reflect.
De vergeten wildernis (2020)
This project "The forgotten wilderness" consists of three canvases of 1.20m by 1.20m and sidewalk tiles below them. The work invites you to stand on the tiles, look at the plants that are depicted and reconsider what wilderness really is. The plants are common plants that grow between tiles and on roadsides. Probably closer to you than you think.
Kijk, denk, maak (2019)
This is an artist in residency project called "Kijk, denk, maak" (Look, think, make). The installation invites you to look and participate by thinking about climate change, especially focused on the consumption society and the reuse of projects. The exposition was on the 25th of May of 2019 in thriftstore "De Boemerang" in Amstelveen.
